INTRODUCTION
St. Joseph's College (Autonomous)
 St.Joseph's college is an affiliated First Grade college of the Bharathidasan University, located in the central part of Tamil Nadu, South India. It was established in 1844 by the Fathers of Society of Jesus (The Jesuits). The college celebrated its centenary in 1944, sesqui-centenary in 1995 and acquired the five star status awarded by NAAC in 2000. It was recognised by UGC as a College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) in 2004, Reaccredited by NAAC with A+ Grade in 2006 and accredited again by NAAC at A Grade (3rd Cycle) in 2012. School of Excellence have been planned and implemented in 2014-15, by integrating related disciplines under one roof. Special Heritage Status Awarded by UGC and DBT-STAR & DST-FIST Sponsored College.
The Society of Jesus owns the college. St.Joseph's college is meant primarily for the Catholic Minority community of the Town and state. This Jesuit College trains young men of quality to be leaders in all walks of life. This College consists of a campus Ministry consisting of College students, young energetic prayer warriors. This ministry conducts a program called GRACE from the year 1996.
